More LT100 Course Photos
Some more photos from the Leadville 100 course. The last post was extremely frustrating - each photo took 2-6 tries before it would upload because the airport siphons it's traffic through an ad-proxy which didn't work worth a damn.
Looking south from Turquoise Lake dam (No I wasn't parked on the dam!) Massive and Elbert visible.
Mt. Elbert from the east. The course is about where the aspen meet the pines. No snow visible - clean rolling.
The road to the river. This section always seems to have exactly the same amount of water no matter what time of year, whether dry year or wet. For those of you new to the LT100, you get your feet wet multiple times crossing several pools of barely-running water before you ever get to the river.

Great Photos of LT.... that trail pic below with the snow looks fun :-) and yikes on the river crossing...
the one pic in this post of the water puddles is what we ran in but it was all water for miles...and the trail was about that wide...when it first started to rain we were running off to the sides to try and stay dry--lol but about 10 mins later of sheets of rain the meadows filled up and we just ran right down the middle laughing are asses off about how fast it filled up and how long it we had to go through it cause we just started that section....
and most participants didn't experience this MADness only the back packers--LOL we were the lucky ones :-) ahhhhh Good friggin times!!!
Training Camp looks like will be blast for LT!
Hi JeffO!
So, you have any inside Coloradan scoop on what's going to happen at SJS50 next weekend? Real course? Alternate course? Alternate reality? I know the website says that they're not deciding for a week yet... Inquiring minds are nosy!
Meghan
Did you know Goblin Valley is back? Any plans on doing that again?
Hope you don't melt in Orlando!
Hey, JeffO, I saw GC crossing on your schedule...why not move it to Oct 18 and come celebrate my b-day?
Just realized I'll see you at HR!
Bob - You are very tough to have kept going through all that! You gotta really like running/racing to not give up.
Meghan - The course is not supposed to be altered. The snow seems to have melted adequately.
Talon - Goblin is back, but Anita isn't the RD. I don't really have it on my schedule. I can give you the scoop, but not on the Internet. (Besides, we need to do coffee, right? If I'm ever in town!)
Olga - THAT sounds like a GREAT idea!! But I need to see. The next 5 weeks will be crazy/busy and I can't think straight. I'll try to arrange it.
Seeya @ HR! Maybe we can sync our transporation for pacing? If it works out. Not sure if I'm pacing Paul Grimm from Ouray to finish or who/how far.
Transportation would be great to share! I am scared to drive there anyway, on high roads:)
